Someone asked me once what the point was in painting when you can just take a picture of something, it is a really good question!
Photography is an art form itself, and when it is done properly it can capture so much with the click of a button. Painting is something else entirely. When you commission a painting, every stage of your piece is created with conscious thought and careful planning, every mark is created with purpose, and every painting made by the artist is the culmination of trial and error from every painting before it that has honed their skill.
To create a painting with special sentimental meaning for people is something that I never take for granted, and it is a privilege for my work to be displayed in people’s homes. Thanks for checking out my wee gallery…
